Killarney Health Centre
Killarney Health Centre is a rural health centre located in Killarney village. It is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, managed by the Health Centre Board, and operated by the Municipality of Killarney.
The Centre provides emergency and primary health services to residents and visitors to the area. It is also equipped to provide services through the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN). Telemedicine utilizes telecommunications technology to access and provide clinical health care. It allows people who are distant from each other to exchange information without one of them traveling to the other’s location. For instance, a physician can conduct an “examination” of a patient live through a video connection; video or still photographs can be transferred to a physician for diagnostic or follow-up purposes. For more information about the OTN, visit www.otn.ca
